Early When The Sun Was Just
Awakening In The Sky
I Would Gaze Out Of My Window
Always There First To Meet My
Eyes
Was The Oak In All Its Splendor
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've Seen It's Spreading Beauty
When
The Sun Was High At Noon
Standing There So Stately And So
Tall
I've Gazed Upon It's Shadowy
Form
Beneath The Silvery Moon
It Gave Me Strength When I Had
None At All
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've Felt It's Pain Amidst A
Violent Storm
Standing There In Battle With The
Wind
It's Timely Limbs So Twisted And
Torn
The Oak Survived, For It Would
Bend
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've Watched As Lightning Served
The Oak An Awful Blow
I Wondered Then How Much It
could Bear
But It Refused To Fall And So
The Magnificent Oak Is Still
Standing There
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Life's Trials Press
Down Upon
My Very Soul, Like The Oak --
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I Refuse To Fall
I Faced The Blows, The
Storms, The Cold
The Great Oak Taught Me
Much Through It All
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've Learned To Face Life
Head On
To Bend - So I Would Not
Break
To Accept Whatever Comes In
My Life
Just To Do My Best, Give My
All, Everyday
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Like The Great Oak Came
From A Tiny Acorn
To Become The Giant It Is
Today
It Doesn't Matter When Or
Where
We're Born; Our Life Is Ours
To Make
